Purr Sip i Ta Tion

IMG_0161

Yuck! It’s April 9, and the precipitation du jour is once again SNOW.  Yuck!  This picture is the view out my kitchen window this morning.  Really?  Snow, again? It’s a chance to review the word finding cue for “precipitation.”   Purr/sip/it….accompanied by a picture of a kitten  (purrsipping a bowl of milk.  As an added  bonus, it’s a 5 syllable word: The kids love “head, shoulders, knees, and toes” with an added pat to their own fannies for the 5th syllable.

Remember to count the syllables and make them very explicit.  Say the word 5 times, make up a sentence using the word, and get a “high 5.” Then remind your student to use this strategy on his or her own to anchor words for future use.
